I got into an argument about curling today. I was watching Denmark versus USA (women's) after I had changed and some guy went into some rant about how weird a sport it was. I shot back that in a culture of snow and ice, you end up with different priorities and leisure activities. The same could be said of art. There are of course snow sculpture competitions like Sweden's Ice Hotel, above, where artists team up with architects... and then there are the East Coast post-snowpocalypse art installations, like below. I like both!
