DAMNANT QUOD NON INTELLEGUNT

TRANSLATION: "BULLIES NEVER GO AWAY"

From Horace's Latin translation of Hippocrates: People condemn what they do not understand.

Basically, bullies are stupid.  And what happens to stupid people? . . . They grow up and usually stay stupid.  While the rest of us never stop learning (sometimes painfully) bullies never learn anything.  They stay stupid and condemn what their emotionally stunted brains can't comprehend.  I have a message for you young pups (provided there are any of you unlawfully clicking the "18 and over" button to read this): It gets better.  Well, kinda.  Just wait for student loans, a mortgage, politicians that constantly disappoint and (one-day soon). . . gay divorce court!

There will still be plenty of assholes who condemn what they don't understand, who are lonely and sad and who will try to make you as miserable as they are.  Variations of these bullies will haunt you long into adulthood: Karl Rove, Glen Beck, Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, Newt Gingrich, your greedy landlord who wants to install a quarters only dishwasher.  They are awful, horrible, sad people.  They can say what they want, but don't give them the advantage of letting them determine how you feel about yourself (this goes for you adults too).

If you're getting teased for not being like everyone else, thats probably a good thing.  Most people are ignorant little shits after all.  Be strong.  Hold on.  We're waiting for you and we need you on our side to win. . . and we need some of you to make porn 'cause we all know I can't keep making films forever.

Which reminds me of my favorite anti-bullying message on the Daily Show last year.  Enjoy!

  1. Love the post, and yeah, it does get better. As someone who was constantly harassed for being a fag all throughout school, I can definitely attest.

And after recently attending my high school reunion, I can say without a doubt that success is the best revenge! What a bunch of losers, they were losers then and they still are. Next!
