If you happened to catch the last Whitney Biennial, you probably remember Aurel Schmidt's trash minotaur.  Recently I got caught in a conversation with some lesbian friends about artists who make "gay" art but aren't gay.  Matthew Barney and Guy Maddin were obvious first pics.  Aurel would definitely make the cut.  If you didn't know she was a "she" you'd probably assume she was a "he" into "hes".  Aurel certainly knows how to draws a beautiful dick. . . and likes her cigarettes.  She's also a bit of a NY fashion plate. . .
