ANALS OF BIG SHOE DIARIES: COLBY AS CANVAS: PINNED DOWN AND MOANING FOR RELEASE

In anticipation of the second anniversary of Big Shoe Diaries, we're mining the annals (anals?) of the blog to present some of our favorite posts from the last two years.  Calligrapher Vinny Nasso has used Colby's luscious torso a couple of times as a canvas now and this was one of our favorites.

"Friend of Colby" Vinny Nasso recently executed another fine piece of body art on the body of yours truly.  You may remember his previous Colby Keller materpiece: The Simple Truth.  This time Vinny chose a poem by Edna St. Vincent Millay, "Love is Not All".

Colby's favorite line: ". . . Nor yet a floating spar to men that sink, and rise and sink and rise and sink again. . . pinned down and moaning for release. . ."  Hells yeah!

Love Is Not All by Edna St. Vincent Millay
Love is not all: it is not meat nor drink
Nor slumber nor a roof against the rain;
Nor yet a floating spar to men that sink
And rise and sink and rise and sink again;
Love can not fill the thickened lung with breath,
Nor clean the blood, nor set the fractured bone;
Yet many a man is making friends with death
Even as I speak, for lack of love alone.
It well may be that in a difficult hour,
Pinned down by pain and moaning for release,
Or nagged by want past resolution's power,
I might be driven to sell your love for peace,
Or trade the memory of this night for food.
It well may be. I do not think I would.

  1. Beyond beautiful ; both words and body art ( and "canvas" too but i'm afraid it's an evidence ! ). It really "fits" you, congrats to Mr. Nasso.
