Banned from the Smithsonian Portrait Gallery with the help of the new House Majority Leader John Boehner, "A Fire in My Belly" is currently on view at the New Museum in NYC and the CB1 Gallery in Los Angeles.  Accompanied by the music of Colby favorite Diamanda Galas the clip above is an edited excerpt from the original below (without sound).  The video is by gay artist and former sex worker David Wojnarowicz, who died of AIDS-related complications in 1992.  He made the work in response to the death of his friend and fellow artist Peter Hujar, who also died of AIDS-related complications in 1987.  Enough has been written about the silly theatrical antics which led to the Smithsonian removing the work.  Better to let the video speak for itself:
