MMMMM!!! VIOLENCE PORN

If you're a fan of the YA literary genre or films about strong women struggling against seemingly insurmountable odds, then you're probably already looking forward to the film adaptation of Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games trilogy.  If you haven't read the books, watch out-they're highly addictive and extremely violent-you'll finish them quickly and likely disappear from the social radar for a bit, much like that time you watched every episode of Battle Star Galactica. The kid on kid violence is pretty intense in the books and I can only imagine the same will be true for the movie and I'm frankly surprised it's not creating more of a stir (perhaps there are some progressive/non-violent parent protests the Huffington Post is intentionally not reporting on because of a grudge).  Regardless, I'm looking forward to seeing it because it reminds of one of my favorite Japanese films of all time with a similar premise, Battle Royale.

And of course, I could only embed the Spanish-dubbed version of Battle Royale's trailer, so watch the real thing here.

  2. Yeah I'm gonna stick with BATTLE ROYALE, though I love Jennifer Lawrence (robbed of the Oscar for WINTER'S BONE) and Josh Hutcherson has matured into one hot MFer.
