BONGO FOR BONOBOS

Fuck Romney.

Obama schmama.

Vote Bongo instead!

Actually former Gabonese President Omar Bongo died in 1999 shortly after he won re-election (and the t-shirt above was printed).  When Fidel Castro stepped down as leader of Cuba in 1998, Bongo achieved the title as longest serving ruler of any country still in office (and not a monarch).  Though he died in office shortly after, Bongo controlled Gabon for almost 42 years, ranking him 5th after Castro (52 years, 62 days), Chiang Kai-shek (46 years, 117 days), Kim Il-Sung (45 years, 302 days), and Muammar Gaddafi (42 years, 49 days) in a list of the longest serving rulers of any country since 1900.   And who knows anything about him?

This Spring Clean I decided to salvage a heap of old t-shirts (including Bongo above) and turn them all into summer tank tops.  Reduce.  Reuse.  Recycle.  I think I did all three. . . kinda.

  9. Actually, Omar Bongo didn't died in 1999 but in 2009 at a clinic in Barcelona. He was re-elected in 1999. You've made a mistake. He was a great president to gabonese people despite of what europeans tend to say after his death. So many people condemned presidents like Bongo or Khadafi without knowing anything; before making an opinion, they should know the both sides of the history. Otherwise, you're wearing it so well !
