COLBY LIKE CHEESE _ _ KELLER LIKE HELEN
I'm sure you already know this, but there are various programmes available to unlock DVDs on a computer (AnyDVD, DVDGenie, etc)so you can watch it on a laptop. Us folks who live in Region 2 have long had to use these to watch the often much better Region 1 discs!
There are also programs you can burn to a disc and run through your regular dvd player that will convert it to "all regions". I did it years ago to watch Some Voices(featuring a YOUNG Daniel Craig in the throes of a full frontal meltdown), which was only available PAL 2 at the time.
if you use a mac laptop it lets you change the region upto three times :)
All DVD standalone players can be unlocked, regionwise. You'll need to google the specific codes for your specific player. You'll have to mess around with the remote and the root codes for your player, but while it's fiddly, it's actually straightforward. Please note this will invalidate your player's warranty.
VLC plays just about anything
Yeah, I was just going to say VLC solves that issue. Just ignore the prompt to change the region on your computer and then open the disc in VLC. It may be a little slow, but works after a while.
