This is a big one: "Colby Dapple-ganger", "Boner for Book", and "Bigshoe Tunes" all wrapped up in one post. . . and all thanks to Italian reader Barbara, who sent mea copy of DJ Spooky's Sound Unbound.

"Sound Unbound is about the remix-- how music, art, and literature have blurred the lines between what an artist can do and what a composer can create."

But why talk about it, when you can just listen.  A sample:

Visually "remixing" the cover:

  1. Allow me to add the literary arts here and lay down a little Gerard Manley Hopkins:

    GLORY be to God for dappled things—
    For skies of couple-colour as a brinded cow;
    For rose-moles all in stipple upon trout that swim;
    Fresh-firecoal chestnut-falls; finches’ wings;
    Landscape plotted and pieced—fold, fallow, and plough;
    And all trades, their gear and tackle and trim.

    All things counter, original, spare, strange;
    Whatever is fickle, freckled (who knows how?)
    With swift, slow; sweet, sour; adazzle, dim;
    He fathers-forth whose beauty is past change:
    Praise him.

  2. Your appreciation is highly appreciated. Thank you!

  3. Thank you Barbara for giving this to Colby and thank you Colby for showing it to us! I ordered it for my daughter for her birthday present!

  4. You're such an interesting person. So much more than what I see. I remember the first time I saw you, such passion, real emotion; then of course, professionalism. I like the passion in you. I see you looking for love.
